This is simply not true. Hardcore is significantly slower and more campy than core precisely because of low health. The more you move, the more opportunity there is for you to die. The lower your health, the more opportunity there is for you to die. Do the math.Bow and axe/club + shield are good picks early. Spear and dagger/knife are good for melee hunting of deer prior to bow. Drive them into water, and kill them as they are slowed. Or sneak. Go to food is cooked meat, grilled neck, and mushrooms.
